After every service, a road test must confirm: remote control, front seats, foot brake and electric parking brake (including operating travel), engine, clutch, steering, transmission, ParkAssist, cruise control, PSM, PASM and Sport switches, sports exhaust system, door mirror fold-in function, heater, air-conditioning system and instruments. A visual inspection for oil and fluid leaks is performed after the road test.
Every 10,000 miles (15,000 km) or once per year, whichever comes first. Porsche specifies full-synthetic oil meeting the C30 specification. Never extend beyond 1 year even on low-mileage cars.
Every 40,000 miles (60,000 km) or every 4 years. The 991.1’s flat-6 (3.4 and 3.8-litre) uses iridium plugs — these are not a “check and re-gap” item; replace on schedule.
The drive belt is checked at 40,000 / 100,000 / 160,000 miles and replaced at the 60,000-mile (90,000 km) or 6-year service, then replaced again at 160,000 miles / 16 years. The inspection at 40k is often overlooked — don’t skip it.
Porsche specifies PDK oil and clutch oil at 120,000 miles (180,000 km) or every 12 years. Many independent specialists recommend doing this earlier — around 60,000–80,000 miles — on higher-performance use cars. Both PDK oil and PDK clutch oil must be changed at the same service.
Yes — in addition to standard items, the 991 Carrera 4 and 4S add: all-wheel drive controller oil at 60,000 miles / 6 years, and front differential oil at 120,000 miles / 12 years. These are skipped on rear-wheel-drive Carrera and Carrera S models.
